In 1975, the Spider randomly made a return to the Lion Annual, despite reprints of the strip in the weekly having finished a year before. The resulting text story lacks much zap and feels a bit like an assembly of previous adventures, as the Spider is dispatched by security forces to stop a mad scientist named Doctor Wye.

It's worth noting, however, that this is something of a rarity, as the story actually takes place in the UK (Scotland, to be precise) rather than America or a fictional country.
