The
original Jammer figure was, along with Gaucho,
issued with the Z
Force Command Centre .
A recolour of the swivel armed variant of the original Stalker, it's
in the running for the title of rarest Action Force figure, with
a good condition example capable of fetching £50-80 at auction.
Along with Gaucho (again) and Lifeline the character was chosen as part
of a convention three-pack in 2010 - this can cost about £40 for
the set, so you can see where I'm going cost-wise...
This
version is a composite of parts from various Generation 2-era
figures, with a head from a later version of Stalker. It's actually
a pretty good choice... While it looks quite different from the original
version of Jammer side-by-side, but not necessarily in a bad way.
For one,
the bulkier construction means he doesn't look quite as dainty next
to the straight-arm Z-Force figures. The other instantly noticeable
difference is Jammer's skin is a lot lighter than the original's. This
seems to be a deliberate attempt to differentiate him from Stalker somewhat,
which is fair enough what with it being aimed at American collectors,
and is much appreciated by me as I have a Stalker
- well, two Stalkers,
and already having a couple of chaps sharing the codename I could have
done without two more sharing the same face.
He's
topped off nicely with a huge boxy radio backpack of the type originally
issued with Stretcher (remember him? C'mon, you must remember good ol'
Stretcher
!), which
suits nicely - whereas Breaker
was always just a radio operator, Jammer was more of a general electronics
warfare expert, so him lugging around a huge box of tricks works. The
accessory looks great too. Overall Jammer is a snappy looking figure
in general, but obviously expensive. That said, he's cheaper than the
original and to my mind is the superior version, so if you can find
one being sold individually or want the other two figures in the set,
he makes a fine addition to Z-Force.
