Despite his uninspiring codename, Skip (or Grant Campbell) was a pretty cool character in the Battle Action Force comic - he lacked the special ops kudos of the SAS Force characters, but he still came off as a pretty decent soldier.

The Z Force Captain figure he was promoting is a repaint of the 1982 British Marine/2 Para figure, and in context of the 1983-1984 line it works nicely by dint of not looking much like anything else (this was the only use of the mould in the 83/84 range), while at the same time fitting very nicely with most of the other Z Force figures.

He basically looks like a British Paratrooper, albeit with more black on the camo, but it's not a bad look at all. The moulded webbing and pouches work better than Palitoy's rather clumsy rubber backpacks, even if the rear ones impede the figure's ability to sit in many of the vehicles.

Even the rifle's good, just the right size for the arm layout without lumbering the figure with a heavy calibre weapon - though what exactly such a rigid figure is really meant to do with the grappling hook and string also included is anyone's guess. Still, Skip is a fine figure, and well worth looking at.
